It is well known that Tamil movie Vellithirai starring Prakashraj, Prithviraj and Gopika in the lead roles is the remake of Malayalam blockbuster Udayananu Tharam.

But it is a lesser known fact that the climax in Udayananu Tharam has been heavily ëborrowedí from 1999 Steve Martin comedy Bowfinger, where a neurotic superstar is secretly filmed by a desperate filmmaker. Hence its going to be the same borrowed climax for Vellithirai too.

Vellithirai is a forthcoming Comedy Tamil film produced by Moser Baer, Duet movies and Mirchi movies. Directed by Viji, the cast includes Prakash Raj, Prithviraj, Gopika and Lakshmi Rai. The music is composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar. Popular stars Jayam Ravi, Trisha Krishnan Karthik Sivakumar, Sathyaraj, Pratap Pothan and Lakshmi Rai play cameos as themselves.
