Veteran Tamil actor Sarathkumar is making his Malayalam debut with Pazhassi Raja, starring Mammootty in the lead. The magnus opus historical film, directed by Hariharan and scripted by M.T. Vasudevan Nair, has Mammootty playing the title role.
Sarath plays the role of Edachena Kunkan, close associate of Pazhassi Raja. He is not
the only actor from Kollywood who is making an entry into Malayalam film industry with this movie. Famous actress Kanihaa plays the role of Kaitheri Makkom; Suman, who was the villain in Sivaji, plays the role of Pazhaiveetan Chandu in this film.
