Vishal is a happy man now. His ‘Malaikottai’ has witnessed a good run at the box office and his next ‘Sathyam’ is fast shaping up. Addressing media persons in Chennai on Wednesday, Vishal expressed his thanks to his fans and well-wishers who contributed for the success of ‘Malaikottai’. “It was a commercial cocktail and the audience immediately liked the way in which the movie was presented”, Vishal said. Asked whether Vishal was imitating Vijay, the tall, dark and handsome hero, said, “No. I don’t imitate him. But I would love to see my films run like his movies”. On his forthcoming release ‘Sathyam’, Vishal said, “It is an action film and I play an encounter cop in it. It is not a routine cop film. It is a different film sure to appease my fans”. ‘Sathyam’, directed by R D Rajasekar, features Nayantara opposite him. Harris Jayaraj scores the music.

Actor Surya is already busy shooting for his next film ‘Varanam Aayiram.’ Director Goutam Menon said the shooting for the film had begun in Chennai. Producer of the film Oscar Films’ V.Ravichandran. The crew will also fly to the U.S. soon and shoot at the Berkley University, San Francisco. Goutham is planning to shoot important sequences at the famous Brooklyn University. Two songs composed by music director Haris Jayaraj are ready. Art director Rajeevan will erect a mammoth set abroad to shoot one of these songs. The camera by Rathnavelu and Thamarai has penned the lyrics. A trim Suriya sports a teenager look in the film. Sameera Reddy and Divya are the heroines. Meanwhile, Surya’s ‘Vel’ will be released this Deepavali.

The actor has completed the talkie portion of his next release, the much hyped, Lingusamy directed Bheema. Remember that the actor has not had a release since Maaja released on November 1, 2005! His fans across the globe and in India are eagerly waiting to see him back and this news is sure to bring a smile on their faces. Yesterday, Chiyaan completed a special song with Sherin of Thulluvatho Illamai fame in Tuticorin. The song has great significance to the story and is going to be one of the highlights of the film. Vikram spoke to Moviebuzz from the location of the song: “This song Rangu Rangamma…. has shaped out well and was choreographed by Brinda. We shot the song on a souped-up boat and it was not easy to dance on a floating boat”. Later Vikram left for Madurai to complete some patchwork shots and by March 31, he would have completed the entire talkie portion of the film. Now what remains are two songs with Trisha, which will probably be shot in Australia. With that Bheema will be complete and the film will positively release by May. Those who saw some action scenes from the film say that it is mind-blowing and daring. Hats off to producer A.M Ratnam, who has completed the movie against all odds.

Billa, a forthcoming Ajith starrer film directed by Vishnuvardhan and is a remake of the blockbuster 1980 Rajini starrer film, Billa. Billa-2007 has completed its shooting schedule. Pyramid Saimira owns the Indian theatrical rights of Billa and reports are that they are considering November 30 as the release of the film.
